Position: Special Events Director

Hours & Date: (30 hours/week) from May 28th to July 20th 2018

Job Description: Under the supervision of Bet Nahrain Assyrian Heritage Centre Board of Director members and/or Managers, the Special Events Director is responsible for coaching and mentoring fellow employees in their day to day responsibilities, reviewing and analysing all event details and decisions, and overseeing and managing employee issues and concerns.

​

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that employees follow their specific project/team plans

  • Ensuring submission of weekly employee work logs to organizational supervisors

  • Reviewing weekly goals and projects with organizational supervisors.

  • Preparation of weekly reports to organizational supervisors.

  • Coordinate and ensure weekly mentor visits

  • Manage employee schedules and resolve any scheduling conflicts

  • Handling fellow employee HR issues that may arise and relaying any concerns/problems to supervisors.

  • Some administrative work

  • Some evening and weekend work will be required

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • A student 15-30 years of age who has anintent to return to school next term.

  • Good leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a large group of people.

  • Previous management experience is an asset.

  • Previous experience planning and executing special events.

  • Previous experience with the planning of Nusardil is an asset.

  • Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.

  • Good planning and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring other students

  • Strong listening and team building skills.
